No Director's Cut?

Nope.

No director's cut. Sorry. I didn't feel like dragging out the crew and finishing up the few shots I needed to do in order to complete the full short movie. It was going into the half hour range or better anyway. It's for the best I don't finish it.

At least this way I can focus on making something new, fresh and exciting. Spending that much time, money and effort to make a director's cut of a movie that lost in the contest doesn't appeal much to me.

At least I took 4th in the contest. That was cool... 'cept the contest only awards first, second and third place. They take a giant shit on the 4th place and below entries.

As a consolation prize, here's the original cut.

Remember... eating a tiger's penis can increase fertility. Think about it.

Forget about us?

Hahahah.

For the 6 people that actually know about and check this site, well, forget about us? Think we would call it quits, toss in the towel and give up? Is that what you want? Huh? HUH?! Well, sorry pal... didn't happen.

In fact, I am at the helm of about 10 other projects at the moment. I swear at least a few of them are semi related to film making. So no worries. I'll have something out before Christmas. I'm also working on an album... so at least I'll have some soundtrack fodder to toss behind these shorts.

Don't expect more fag-tastic bullshit in the Dungeons and Dragons vein. I didn't want to make a movie in that vein anyway, it was just a contest. Next time, my friend, it'll be what we intended to do in the first place.

Except all of the actors were fired.

Mwahahahah!

Yeah, I know the movie is cheesy, but, come on!

We are huge fans of the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness films! We WANTED this to be a cheesy, campy affair and I KNOW we at least succeeded in that! Hahahah. It's all good. You know, I have roughly 2 hours of raw footage from this whole production as well as over 200 hours of pre-production prep time. It kind of sucks the contest only allowed for 5 minute films, but such is the beast. I know we have the potential and this wasn't bad for out first attempt.

Anyway... vote 10 for us everyday until October 10th at:

You can copy that addy and paste it into a new broweser window to check it out. Thanks again!

Wow! Finally!

Turns out people were cheating on the contest when it first started out. Running scripts from the remote servers and the like. Everything was reset. We all now have equal chances once again. It's a nice feeling, to tell the truth. Ignore that previous location for the contest entry, as it is no longer active! The new URL is posted below!

Anyway... Finally the day has arrived. Sorry there has been minimal updates. Everyone involved in this project has really been busy lately. We've all been a little overwhelmed with the 'after summer rush' with school, work and the like. Doesn't mean we aren't planning our next movie, however. We're all over that. We need to make a dent in this contest, first, and move on to the next!

The "Making Of" and the "Directer's Cut" are being worked on. No worries. They just might take a little longer then originally thought. But vote for us if you will! Vote 10 and tell your friends to do the same! Now more then ever we need the support of our friends and family. We are trying to make these projects as community based as possible and we need support from everyone before we can make that dream happen!

Oh, for the record...

In the movie, all of the music was created by Jay and Ese. So, for those of you wondering what those songs we used are... they are ours. Next post I'll go ahead and upload some photos of the soundtrack process in motion.

We wanted this whole production to be grassrooted from the ground up... meaning we didn't steal anything from anyone. Most people were using clips from Braveheart or Dragonheart or one of those kind of movies, but I wasn't sure if copywritten material was allowed or not. Better safe then sorry. I just wish either one of us knew more people who played orchestra! Maybe that will be for our next project.

It's up!

The movie is up! Wow. Looking at the competition though, it's unreal. All of the other entries do, in fact, suck (no offense, but people just did not try), but there is a whole bouncing plethora of them to check out.

It's rather annoying, but only 32 of them have been added to the "Dungeons and Dragons" portion of the gamevideos.com site. If there are dozens of these movies out there, shouldn't they clean them up and toss them in the right area?

Oh well. Check it out!

Remember you can vote 10 now for the movie, but the official voting begins on the 15th! Hope to see you back then!

Oi!

Sorry that all took so long. Posted and updating have been difficult. However, next update, I will outline everything we did and where it will all go from here. I have a director's cut I will be posting at some point. Keep tuned in to find out more information!

Hmm.

Funny how things never seem to turn out the way you want them. Many problems have hit the production process, slamming it to a screeching halt. I'm not sure where it will all go from here. Who knows.

The Beholder Lives!

As promised, SOME sort of media associated with the movie project. Granted, I should have uploaded some other photos with this, but hey... at least this might give me a little leeway until I have more to show. This whole process is taking it's toll on everyone. This Beholder cost over $200 to make and about 50 hours of labor to create. Hope you like it!

The Beholder

Madness of the Eye

Greetings.

At this point I should probably fill people in on what our first project is going to be. The first film we are actually going to see until fruitation is a film for a short film contest going on over at GameVideos.com. The contest is a fan-film affair based on the Dungeons and Dragons license. The objective is, and this is a direct quote here, to "create the best 5 minute of Dungeons and Dragons" on the net. Entries are due on the 1st of September and voting begins on September 15th. We plan on winning this thing. If we do, our movie production crew can gain access to the proper gear to begin making movies on a more regular basis.

Anyway, let's jab a little about this movie in general. First of all, this whole movie was written by me, Jay. From the get go I knew there was little I was able to do to make this movie a grand production. Hence, I tried to make this movie as grass roots as possible to get the most bang out of my buck. Funding was low, around 500 dollars or so... meaning I had to cut a few corners to make this happen.

First order of business was deciding on a script. That took me at least a week of sitting in my garage to figure out. Eventually I figured that everyone and their monkey was going to be making "slapstick" gaming movies. On a budget of 20 bucks, people would sit around and make fun of being a gamer. Well, that wasn't going to work. Even though all of us were gamers, we were far from your typical group... a lot of gamers would not relate to us, whatsoever. So decided on a fantasy movie.

Next step was picking the actors, which was simple. I only had a handful of people who I could call on the drop of a dime. And then, I began work on the monster... and sheesh if that thing didn't cost me almost half my budget and half my pre-production time. Day and night I was working on that thing. Good thing is it came out excellent. In my next post I'll have to post a picture or two. So, as the date approached, we picked a spot, got my scripts in gear and set out. Unfortunately, we didn't get nearly enough done that day so this weekend we're trying to bring it all together.

Speaking of which, I need to get back to making the music for this thing. More updates to come soon, I swear!

YouTube Account Open.

Okay, so we now have a YouTube profile. Hopefully I can start tossing a few things live now... you know, just so we can get this ball rolling. Once the "Madness of the Eye" film is done I plan on starting right up with another movie.

Summer is closing... we need to get this bad boy going. With luck we can have 3 movies done by October. I'm planning a special movie for a Halloween Special if we can get that far. If you want to check out our YouTube page, head over to the "YouTube" link to the right on the side bar. Check out the 1Up profile if you would like as well. That one might not be updated as much since I only made it for the contest. Anyway... cheers!
